How did you learn about this particular class at Sizzleworks?: I have been taking classes for a few months so I peruse the schedule for classes which will upgrade my cooking skills...and get me to use some of my lonely appliances tucked away in the cabinet.
Please rate your satisfaction level with your entire Sizzleworks experience.: I want to make meals with fresher ingredients, quicker and better than just tossing something in the oven, pot, or skillet and hoping it comes out OK. No one ever starved in my house - but the meals could use some pizzazz. I have a food processor still in the box which I now know how to add a bit of pizzazz to my cooking...and have it faster.
Did you have fun in the class?: Everyone has the opportunity to jump up behind the counter and either 'hands-on' or observe. There is none of that listen to the chef and ask questions later. Sizzleworks classes put the fun in 'class' without having to take an exam at the end.
The food was: I've learned that I have overworked too much pie crust, and bread dough. The trick to slicing romaine in the processor was definitely an AH-HA moment. Along with how to slice garlic.
The skills you learned were: I always expect to learn a lot from the chefs at Sizzleworks. My mother prepared simple meals for a large flock and we girls learned from her along with Home Ec classes which were offered while we were in school. I didn't cook a roast until my late 20s. I am in my 50s now, and I am finally getting confident in my own skills in the kitchen because it is something I want to learn.
Please rate your satisfaction level with the value you received from your class.: I don't expect to become a Chef - I want to learn to cook better, with more wholesome ingredients and not have to live in the kitchen. I would invite anyone I can to Sizzleworks classes because I know many of my friends could increase their skills also. (!)
